About "fury and sound..."

My name is Michael Stevens, and I'm an ordinary person with no particular claim to distinction. But then again, each of us lives a life that is entirely our own. Our experiences, beliefs, fears, and hopes are unique and of import to us, and sharing them always carries a risk: acceptance, rejection, connection, or misunderstanding. That's both intimidating and exciting.

Human connection can be one of life's greatest challenges, but it's also one of its greatest rewards. This blog is my attempt to connect—using technology, ironically, to bridge some of the distance it often creates. Here you'll find my observations, opinions, occasional rants, and whatever creativity I can bring to the page.

You'll also discover that I love art. It never ceases to amaze me that a film, a play, a concert, or a painting can make hundreds or even thousands of people feel something together at the same moment. It's the same simple magic as smiling at a baby and getting a smile in return: a brief but undeniable connection that reminds us we're sharing this experience of being human.

Thanks for stopping by. I am glad our paths are crossing. I know that, in the grand scheme of things: my thoughts don't matter. But I plan to share them anyway and hope to hear yours in return.

"Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Macbeth (Act 5, Scene 5) by William Shakespeare
